Kiesa, I am excited to learn that you and Jaeger are supporting a CSA Project. I’ve occassionally considered the thought of joining one, but the utterly massive quantities have always deterred me. I’d don’t think I could eat or cook that much stuff before some of it started to rot. Hmmm…. maybe I could donate what I won’t use to a Food Not Bombs charity or something… I dunno.
Anyway, glad to know you’re having a good experience with it. Tomatoes sound yummy for making a sauce or something. I might have to splurge on some fresh ones again soon. Mmmm….
In our CSA, you have several different levels you can buy. I decided to get the middle level. However, they do have one that costs less and gets less produce (it’s allegedly suppose to feed one vegetarian person). The biggest challenge I’ve found with all the produce is not the quantities. It’s more the variety. Sometimes we get things that I don’t normally buy either because they aren’t my favorite (like green bell peppers) or because I just didn’t know what to do with them :) It’s been interesting coming up with new recipes to use this type of stuff.
