Forgetting to cancel house cleaners the day after we got back from Washington was probably a bit of a mistake :S

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 11:42 AM
Calvin’s at daycare and I’m starting work for the day.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 3:58 PM
5 is busy ruining everything the house cleaners accomplished by throwing up everywhere :(

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 5:18 PM
Off to pickup Calvin from daycare.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 5:41 PM
Calvin has gone from eating 8 oz at a feeding to having to coax him to eat 4.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 7:25 PM
Just got back from the library.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 7:25 PM
I’m afraid Calvin won’t go to bed at his normal time tonight. He just woke up from a 2 hr nap.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 8:17 PM
I think Calvin might be sick. Flushed face, poor appetite and an axillary temp of 99 degrees. Yet his feet are cold (?)

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 8:23 PM
Of course, the house is also hovering around 80. Our air conditioner is definitely loosing the heat battle.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 8:56 PM
Hm, I think it’s a mild fever, I gave him Tylenol and now he feels cooler to me.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 8:56 PM
If he has a fever tomorrow, I’m going to have to keep him home from daycare.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 8:57 PM
(Though I think we do need to have our air conditioner looked at. 80 degree rooms are not healthy for babies)

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 9:16 PM
Calvin is finally asleep. Now time for my last pumping of the night before I follow him to bed.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 9:50 PM
Well . . . I thought I put Calvin to bed. I finished pumping and went upstairs to find him bright eyed.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2009 9:50 PM
Maybe the Tylenol pepped him up a little too much?

2010

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2010 6:49 AM
I actually got up early to exercise this morning.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2010 7:46 AM
Just finished emailing rejection letters to the applicants we decided not to hire to babysit Calvin. Not fun but at least it’s done.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2010 10:23 PM
I have been instructed to put sunscreen on Willow’s ears and nose before she goes outside.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2010 10:27 PM
Apparently, white cats are the redheads of the feline world when it comes to skin cancer.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2010 2:52 PM
From daycare: “Calvin enjoyed coloring outside with sidewalk chalk today!”

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2010 2:52 PM
Once again, Calvin started crying when I decided it was time to leave daycare.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2010 2:52 PM
I think he’d prefer mommy stay at daycare with him.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2010 4:02 PM
Calvin actually let me finish fixing supper and cleaning up before demanding extra attention.

2011

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2011 5:44 PM
From daycare: “Calvin had fun with the mad science experiments.”

2012

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2012 1:51 PM
Church is going to be awful. It’s allegedly going to be 98 degrees, we don’t have air conditioning and I’m playing fast/loud music.

2014

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2014 7:53 AM
The peacock is back in our yard.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2014 12:50 PM
Oh, Calvin is pretending to take a nap the same time Grandma is.

2015

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2015 3:24 PM
First day back to work was great!

2016

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2016 5:44 PM
Hm, Julian has pushed his crib across the bedroom.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2016 6:06 PM
It turns out Quatros also hurt to step on.

2017

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2017 3:09 PM
Calvin is enjoying Deception Pass State Park! (Julian is napping.)
Calvin grins at the camera while standing on a sandy beach with a lake in the background. He is holding a sand bucket in one hand.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2017 4:16 PM
Julian woke up but is boycotting the water.
Toddler Julian stands in front of two buckets and seriously transfers sand from one container to the other.

2019

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2019 12:52 PM
I should have bought ear protectors.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2019 1:10 PM
Julian on a solstice parade float. (He’s a cat.)
Julian stands in front of a parade float. He is dressed in a black outfit and has a bell around his neck. He has on a headband with cat ears.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2019 2:04 PM
Julian doesn’t seem enthusiastic. Though, I suppose that’s appropriate for a cat.
Julian sits on a float that has a gigantic multicolored (pinks, oranges, etc) paper maiche cat on it. He is dressed in a black cat costume with a head band for cat ears.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2019 2:05 PM
Also, just like a real cat, he doesn’t like other people playing with his tail.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2019 3:02 PM
The kids were cats but the parents were showing off coordinated swinging backpacks off shoulders and distribution of snacks.

2020

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2020 8:15 AM
Well, the posting for my job went live Friday evening.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2020 4:18 PM
I sincerely doubt stopping au pairs from coming into the US is going to significantly add new jobs for US citizens. Instead, I suspect that this will keep more professional women out of the work force. (So, maybe more jobs become available for men?)

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2020 4:30 PM
To be clear, there are many, many things broken in our country and I don’t want to imply this issue is the most important problem right now. Nor is disallowing au pairs the biggest problem in this executive order.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2020 4:30 PM
It’s just one more thing to add to the pile.

2021

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2021 5:56 PM
I have 5 timers built-in to my kitchen (2 per oven and 1 in the microwave). It’s amazing.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 22, 2021 8:28 PM
Our new house has a fancy dishwasher that @calvinsdad hates because the dishes need to be loaded in a completely different manner than our previous dishwashers. However, I’m fascinated because it has a salt dispenser for hard water.

[When asked what the salt does in the dishwasher and if you could use regular table salt.]

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 24, 2021 12:52 PM
Apparently dishwasher salt can trap the magnesium and calcium. Not sure if you can use it with a dishwasher that doesn’t have a container for it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dishwasher_salt

We’ve only had couple cycles but I think the glasses are looking better.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jun 24, 2021 12:54 PM
Here’s a better article about it: https://realtor.com/advice/home-improvement/what-is-dishwasher-salt/
