Calvin woke up at 4:30am but I put another blanket over him and he went back to sleep fairly quickly.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 7:42 AM
Now he’s still sleeping. I don’t remember the last time he slept this late. He’s not even thrashing in his sleep, just sleeping.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 8:03 AM
Still sleeping . . .
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 8:21 AM
I think Calvin finally just woke up.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 9:15 AM
Trying to feed Calvin “solid” food is still proving to be problematic.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 9:44 AM
Although Calvin got up so late, he’s already cranky so I think we’re going to go on a walk after all.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 10:31 AM
Calvin didn’t fall asleep on our walk but he seems moderately happy now and I got a little bit of exercise :)
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 6:26 PM
Calvin woke up from his (short) afternoon nap at 5:15. Now I’m wondering if he’ll be ready to go to bed at 7.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 6:26 PM
Since he got up so later this morning, I think he might only get 4 meals today instead of his regular 5.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 7:11 PM
Well, I’m trying to put Calvin to bed at 7 but so far he’s not very happy.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 7:12 PM
He’s been in bed by 7 all the previous nights this week but he hadn’t slept in till 8:30 before either.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 7:34 PM
Well, I listened to Calvin complain for at least 15 min thinking he was just complaining about going to bed early.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 7:34 PM
Nope, he was on his stomach again *sigh*.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2009 7:34 PM
I view video monitors as a little over the top but this would be a case in which it would be handy.
2010
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2010 7:56 AM
I completely forgot the bread sponge I started last night and it sat out all night. Sadly it had milk in it so I think I have to throw it.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2010 4:47 PM
It’s amazing how Calvin is the nicest child in the world as long as you have your COMPLETE attention on him.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2010 8:56 PM
Calvin kept falling down and skinning his knees today.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2010 8:57 PM
I decided to serve breakfast for supper and Calvin enthusiastically enjoyed his French Toast.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2010 8:57 PM
From daycare: “Calvin explored the Sea Snorkelers room today investigating all of our toys.”
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2010 8:57 PM
All of my tasks are finally finished for the day so now I’m off to read for a couple of minutes before bed.
2012
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2012 2:17 PM
Calvin is using his spoon to chop up an apple I gave him.
2015
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2015 10:32 AM
I am throwing out all but 6 of Calvin’s toothbrushes.
[@buffyro asked why he had so many.]
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2015 10:36 AM
@buffyro I’m not entirely sure. Some obviously come from the dentist but presumably not all.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2015 4:41 PM
The optometrist said if I had six more children I would have perfect vision. Though, he did concede glasses are cheaper.
2016
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2016 6:59 AM
Trying an experiment today: BART TO Caltrain for work.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2016 6:59 AM
Made it to BART just in time.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2016 7:36 AM
Well, I _think_ I made it on the right train.

Julian: “What are you doing?”
Me: “Oh, I’m just getting rid of a spiderweb.”
Julian: “Hey! I like spiderwebs!”

This is a really good article about libraries and ebooks: https://smartbitchestrashybooks.com/2020/09/hold-on-ebooks-cost-how-much-the-inconvenient-truth-about-library-ecollections/
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2020 2:01 PM
I particularly like the summary at the end:
“Don’t stop reading ebooks.
And don’t feel guilty about reading them.
Don’t yell at authors if their publishers have bad terms.
Do contact publishing house executives about their bad terms.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Sep 23, 2020 2:01 PM
Do be patient with your library if the wait times are forever or if they don’t have every book you want.
Be nice to your very stressed out librarian.
Most of all: do advocate for your local library when budget season rolls around.”
