2009

It’s a little disheartening when Calvin can’t even manage applesauce without it first being pureed.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2009 8:33 AM
Of course, maybe he just isn’t interested in food at the moment.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2009 1:52 PM
My computer just blue-screened. I don’t remember the last time that happened.\

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2009 3:32 PM
Off to attend Calvin’s daycare party.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2009 5:08 PM
Calvin has multiple teeth coming in on the top of his mouth.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2009 5:09 PM
Daycare thinks there are 4 though I’m only seeing 3ish (they are just _barely_ poking through).

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2009 5:10 PM
In other news, Santa Claus was _not_ greeted with joy by the infants. All except one started crying as soon as they saw him.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2009 5:10 PM
Calvin initially started smiling and then devolved into crying.

2010

Just opened Christmas stockings at the Nana & Grandpa’s house.

2012

Apparently “helping” mommy pack book boxes is more interesting than watching TV.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2012 5:25 PM
My living room looks much sadder without books in it. I’ll be glad when I can put them back.

2013

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2013 3:12 PM
@calvinsdad I’m still bemused by that being part of your job.

[This was in response to @calvinsdad saying, “I just put a phone in a freezer. Because that’s my job now.”]

2015

Me: “Calvin I need you to use commonsense.” Calvin: “I don’t think I have any.”

2016

Oh. Our new street only has a 23% grade. We aren’t nearly as steep as I thought.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2016 12:45 PM
See https://web.archive.org/web/20171204115447/http://www.datapointed.net/2009/11/the-steeps-of-san-francisco/ for truly steep streets.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2016 4:20 PM
I’m not sure our current strollers are suitable for our new house.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2016 4:21 PM
I need to find a stroller that 1) is safe for down hill 2) can be pushed up hill easily and 3) can handle uneven sidewalks.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 18, 2016 8:31 AM
I really want something like downshifting where you prevent it going faster than a certain speed. I don’t think it exists.

[@yanthor suggested a kickstarter]

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 18, 2016 8:36 AM
@calvinsdad also suggested this but I suspect that there aren’t enough hilly cities to make money :)

Ah yes, the traditional magnetic fishing rod in the Christmas tree.
A small, 4 foot, flocked Christmas tree with several red and gold balls hanging off it. Also, hanging off the Christmas tree is a Melissa and Doug kid magnetic fishing pole.

2021

I’m baffled by how Julian can eat 2 lbs of tomatoes in one day.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2021 9:31 AM
At least it’s healthy?? I started the week with three 18oz cartons of cherry tomatoes. Tuesday I had to stop by Costco so picked up another 2 lbs to be on the safe side. Everything was gone this morning.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2021 9:31 AM
I have procured another carton of tomatoes and have hidden it in the broken oven.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2021 11:24 AM
Julian is allowed to eat any fruit sitting out whenever he wants. I’ve never made a special rule for the tomatoes but may need to rethink that stance.

He is mainly eating it between when he gets home from school and when we stop work for the day. It’s a self-serve snack.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2021 2:03 PM
Calvin asked if we had tomatoes. I have shown him the secret stockpile and sworn him to secrecy.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Dec 17, 2021 11:10 AM
Every time I get texted Julian’s COVID-19 test results I am grateful we’re in Santa Cruz City schools this year. It’s very impressive the amount of effort they and the county have put into making our schools as safe as possible.
