2009

Calvin got up at 6:30. I think we just missed Nana as she left to go back to Washington.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2009 11:42 AM
Calvin is taking his 2nd nap of the day.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2009 12:07 PM
I think this is the first time Calvin has successfully napped in his bassinet for at least a month.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2009 12:59 PM
Calvin (unintentionally) wiped his mouth with a burp cloth after spitting up.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2009 2:54 PM
Calvin’s sleeping while we (very quietly) eat dinner.
[I double checked the timestamp and it really claims to be 2:54. Why we were eating dinner that early I couldn’t say.]
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2009 5:07 PM
I think Calvin’s starting to consciously put things in his mouth.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2009 7:01 PM
Calvin has been on-and-off napping since 5 (with a break for supper).
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2009 7:01 PM
Now I’m afraid he might be down for the “night.” If so, I’m worried about when he might wake up tomorrow.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2009 7:13 PM
Calvin woke up after all. Now we’re engaged in some exciting tummy time (with only minor complaining from Calvin).
2010
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2010 7:33 PM
Calvin decided to wake up at 5:30 today.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2010 7:34 PM
He’s pretty proficient at eating purees with a spoon on his own now. Unfortunately, it usually ends with the bowl being thrown to the floor.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2010 4:27 PM
From daycare: “Calvin enjoyed experimenting with dried oatmeal today!”
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2010 4:54 PM
Calvin _really_ likes pesto.
2011
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2011 5:41 PM
Calvin just stormed up the stairs, shut the baby gate, then slammed his door because I won’t let him watch more TV.
[Note: He’s actually significantly easier as a real teen, at least so far.]
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2011 5:41 PM
People keep saying that before you know it Calvin will be a teenager but I had no idea it’d happen this fast.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2011 6:29 PM
From daycare: “Calvin had fun playing in our ‘boat.'”
2012
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2012 9:15 AM
Just picked up my new glasses. Not sure about the frame style but the prescription seems better.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2012 7:31 PM
Well, family duplo night isn’t very relaxing when mommy, daddy, and Calvin all have different visions.
2013
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2013 7:11 PM
I’m ready for cooler (not cold) weather.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2013 4:25 PM
Weird. Willow has been throwing up more than 5 these days.
2015
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2015 8:39 AM
We have the Sunday edition of the New York Times delivered the old fashioned way: on our driveway. So weird :)
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2015 9:00 AM
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2015
Grandma is cuddling with Julian and Calvin at the same time.
2016
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2016 6:19 PM
I think we have too much curry for the number of people who can tolerate how hot it is.
2018
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2018 9:40 PM
The boys have safely arrived and are now allegedly going to sleep in their new bedroom.
2019

I like airports fine but I can’t imagine going to them just to hang out: https://www.seattletimes.com/business/airports-open-up-to-terminal-tourists-who-just-want-to-hang-out/
2020
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2020 2:50 PM
The books are not getting packed fast enough.
2021
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2021 10:51 AM
From the LA Times: “Unvaccinated are driving uptick in virus cases” and “‘The virus will find you,’ epidemiologist warns those who are still unvaccinated”.
It’s really stressful right now being the parent of a kid who is too young to get vaccinated.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2021 10:51 AM
I realize the odds that Julian will die, or even need to be hospitalized, if he gets COVID-19 are really low. However, Julian got pretty sick in 2019. Not bad enough to need to see a doctor but it was borderline since even with ibuprofen, his temp stayed high.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2021 10:51 AM
Just a run-of-the-mill fever fever was pretty stressful.
@calvinsdad and I alternated taking off work and I spent most of the time holding him while he lay like a ghastly shadow of his normal self.
Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Jul 12, 2021 10:51 AM
So, even if Julian likely wouldn’t die, I don’t want him to get sick. Particularly, when it could have been prevented by other people behaving responsibly.
