School COVID-19 update: On Monday Calvin received 4 exposure notifications. On Wednesday Julian received a exposure notification as well as a “substantial exposure notification.” This means that more than 50% of the school is exposed so they consider everyone exposed.

Everyone is still in-person and the school has increased (PCR) testing frequency. So far, Julian/Calvin have consistently tested negative and have no symptoms. The only thing that’s really changed is their swimming lessons were canceled this week.

For swim lessons I got a “bath sheet” for the first kid to huddle under during the second lesson. Now that our family has seen it we all want one for everyday use.

(Apparently bath sheets are extra large towels. In this case, 40”x70”.)

I have not actually tried one yet but they definitely feel like a good idea. I had to wrestle it away from Calvin so it could be washed. Not sure if a regular towel rack would work or not though.

oday my internet was cut off because my payment failed. Apparently. I didn’t get any email notifying me that my payment had not succeeded this month. (It had worked fine last month.) I did not get a paper or online statement.

What my son got, first thing in the morning while I was still sleeping, was a random browser tab opening, that he hadn’t asked for, for some weird company he’d never heard of. (Because kids shouldn’t have to know that CenturyLink exists.)

So, I tethered my computer to my Verizon phone (thank you Verizon!) to investigate the situation. Sure enough, when I logged in to CenturyLink via the link I usually use, it tells me my payment wasn’t approved.

I combed through my emails from:http://centurylink.com and don’t see any notification at all that my last payment was denied. (I also looked in Spam and Trash.) So . . . @CenturyLinkHelp was I notified before my internet was shut off?

Oh, and to clarify, CenturyLink tried, for the first time today, to bill me. There wasn’t a billing attempt, a “can you please double check your payment info?”, and THEN shutting off service. They just immediately shut off service.

[I just looked up this flower to get more info for the image alt text and learned that it’s likely a Chaparral Currant and is actually suppose to bloom in winter. California is weird.]

I’ve gotten two notifications today about summer camp registration opening up. It’s not something I’m ready to deal with yet but if I wait all the summer camps may be full by the time I’m ready :S
