2010

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2010 11:13 AM
Calvin woke up around 7:30 last night and cried until around 9:00. Nothing seemed to help. Fortunately, the rest of the night was good.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2010 11:14 AM
He starting making noises around 6am and @calvinsdad got up to feed him around 7.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2010 11:14 AM
I slept in till 8 which was good because I hadn’t gotten much sleep the previous day.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2010 1:11 PM
Calvin is enthusiastically eating garlic bread.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2010 3:46 PM
Just got back from grocery shopping. @calvinsdad, grandparents, and Calvin are still in Boulder.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2010 4:20 PM
I finally picked up a collar for 5, attached the licenses for both cats and let them outside. We’ll have to see how this works out . . .

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2010 10:04 PM
Well, 5 seems to do fine outside. Willow, not so much. As @calvinsdad mentioned, she got stuck under the porch.

2011

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2011 7:23 AM
Calvin slept well last night so I was thinking he could go to daycare but it turns out he has a mild fever so I guess not.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2011 11:03 AM
Maybe trying to make a double batch of rye bread is a bit too much for a modern-day “Heavy Duty” Kitchen Aid mixer . . .

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2011 1:03 PM
We’re off on a stroller nap attempt.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2011 2:22 PM
Success with the nap but I spent the last 1/2 mile pushing a stroller with a flat tire.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2011 2:35 PM
When I give Calvin Tylenol, he latches on and sucks with an aptitude he never seemed to match with any milk delivery system.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2011 3:24 PM
I really love my Becco carrier. Since Calvin doesn’t feel good, he wants to cuddle and this way he can and I can grocery shop.

2012

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2012 11:37 AM
Well, I got 3 1/2 hrs of work done before Calvin started requiring extensive attention. Not bad.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2012 7:08 PM
Calvin _appears_ to be in bed for the night.

2014

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2014 5:06 PM
Calvin specifically requested subtitles on his video.

2016

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2016 4:39 PM
I feel like I’m in college again with minimal furniture and computers and cables strewn across the floor.

Ted “Theodore” Logan @calvinsdad Mar 28, 2016 5:16 PM
@spreadsheetmom Do you like my Craigslist living room?

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2016 5:20 PM
@calvinsdad Yes, though it’s kind of weird.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2016 4:44 PM
After reading mom listservs I don’t think the whole “just listen, don’t solve” issue with relationships is a guy thing. It’s a people thing.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2016 4:53 PM
This kitchen has 2 built-in cutting boards and when they painted the cabinets they painted the cutting boards to the cabinets.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2016 5:03 PM
I want to setup a chime that tells me when mail has been delivered to the dark recesses of our garage.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2016 8:04 PM
I desperately need a step ladder to get into these cabinets.

2017

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2017 4:34 PM
Julian just said, “Willow, where are you?” (In badly accented toddler but still, pretty impressive for a boy who wasn’t talking.)

At the zoo.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2018 10:54 PM
I think Julian likes the animal benches more than the actual animals.
Julian and Calvin sit on a bright colored bench with giant leaves providing the back and a large sculpted toucan bird sitting on the arm off to the right. Julian has a sun hat on and is slightly leaning forward with an pleased open mouth. Calvin is sitting next to him, looking off to the left, with a grin on his face.

2020

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2020 12:48 PM
Wow, today I think I slept in the latest since Julian has been born (at least with him in the house). Julian being able to make his own breakfast is a game changer.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2020 1:10 PM
Today I’m introducing Julian to peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. It’s been a very, very, long time since I’ve had these.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2020 1:14 PM
I believe @calvinsdad thought I made this up myself but I didn’t: https://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/24/dining/making-a-meal-out-of-peanut-butter-and-pickles.html

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2020 1:31 PM
Calvin contemplates the sandwich. @calvinsdad refuses to try it.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2020 2:38 PM
This was a normal sandwich my family ate growing up. However, I had completely forgotten about it until Julian started eating peanut butter and cheese sandwiches, which I found weird.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2020 2:39 PM
We also ate peanut butter and tomato sandwiches, but you have to have really good beefsteak tomatoes for that to work.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2020 2:59 PM
I’m really bemused by how many articles/posts I’m seeing about people realizing how hard it is to teach kids.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2020 2:59 PM
When I was first looking for a librarian job, I never applied to be a children’s librarian because I knew, without any doubt, that working with children was not my gift.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2020 2:59 PM
Though, since we’ve now apparently raised the general consciousness to realize how hard this is, let’s go ahead and raise the teachers’ salaries.

Laurel, an interior design blogger, noted that figuring out how long this current crisis is going to last feels a lot like wondering how long you’re going to be pregnant.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2020 10:12 PM
Specifically, “You just have to take it one day at a time knowing full well that one day you will not be sharing your body with an eight-pound hyperactive gerbil trying to kick his way out of your abdomen.”

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Mar 28, 2020 10:12 PM
Now that she mentions it, the uncertainty in my two pregnancies really feel similar to the current crisis. Especially the preterm labor drama with Calvin.

Julian flies a kite.

It’s not soup weather :(
