Today I’m going to try power pumping: https://web.archive.org/web/20090427220918/http://www.mobimotherhood.org/MM/article-lms.aspx#pumping 10 minutes pumping, 10 minutes off, repeat.

[Things I would tell myself if I could go back in time: the negative mental health aspects of this definitely outweigh any potential positives from increased milk production.]

(This was something our lactation consultant recommended and it seems to make sense.)

I’m done with power pumping for the day. After 10 min on 10 min off for 8 hrs I’m relieved to be back to only 1 pumping every 2 hrs.

Calvin started waking up around 5 today and insisted it was time to get up at 6. @calvinsdad got up and has now gone back to bed.

We had 2 woodpeckers (?) assaulting the side of our house.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 18, 2010 8:32 AM
I could use my new kitchen computer now.

Just got from the grocery store and did a whirlwind of feeding Calvin and putting him to sleep.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 18, 2010 12:13 PM
Now going to try to go thrift store shopping while Calvin is napping and @calvinsdad is watching him.

Just came back from getting ice cream and going to a new park.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 18, 2010 5:18 PM
This park was more of a “big kids” park and had many more exciting slides and higher swings than ours.

From daycare: “Calvin enjoyed painting this morning and gluing yarn on paper.”

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 18, 2011 6:51 PM
@calvinsdad in casual conversation, “I want to have my cake and eat it too.” Calvin, “CAKE! CAKE!”

For supper we had: baked potato, soy chicken nuggets, and broccoli smothered in cheese sauce. Not the most nutritional meal ever.

5 is acting even odder than usual.

My hunt for Easter Eggs was not terribly successful. Apparently I shouldn’t have waited till Friday to buy lg plastic eggs.

Julian’s first word appears to be “hi”.

The problem with non-candy Easter egg fillers is I don’t want random small things scattered across the house.

I have many, many persimmons in our freezer. It just occurred to me that I might be able to use King Arthur Flour’s Banana-Oat Pancakes and substitute persimmon pulp for the bananas.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 18, 2020 8:45 AM
This could be particularly fortuitous as the recipe only uses oat flour. I have pretty much _every_ flour left except for all-purpose.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 18, 2020 8:49 AM
(I expect to be able to get all-purpose flour tomorrow during my weekly grocery shopping. At least, last week they had it in stock. I just didn’t want to make a special trip for it.)

I’m getting better at face masks but there’s still room for improvement.
Julian's eyes look soulfully into the camera while the rest of his face is covered with a cloth face mask. The mask has a blue background with small brightly colored dragons flying around the fluffy white clouds.

Well, now that I have most of the books packed, I have to figure out where to store them. This is my current solution for some of them. These are good solid bookcases so hopefully they can take the weight . . .

Three tall bookshelves, with 5 shelves each, with a numbered box on each shelf and then additional numbered boxes on top of the bookcases.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 18, 2021 1:15 PM
I will not try this on my $30, 10+ year-old, bookcases.
