Well, Calvin first woke up at 10:00pm last night. That’s pretty much indicative of the entire night. Eventually, I got up at 5:30.

Calvin slept in his crib again for his morning nap. It was 1 1/2 hr long which was great since I had a chance to nap too.

The broccoli died :( I wasn’t paying attention and turned the stove on instead of just prepping the broccoli to be cooked.

Calvin just crawled backwards for the first time (previously he only scootched). Still hasn’t been able to crawl forwards .

Earlier he threw a fit because he wanted to go outside but it took him a good 5 min of throwing a fit before I figured it out.

We did go outside. I don’t like rewarding tantrums except if he had been capable of asking more politely, I wouldn’t have objected.

I have decided Calvin should know how to bake. So, I’m aiming for a dessert a week. Today we’re making cake. However, I have no idea what to do with it once we’ve made it. Our family cannot/should not consume that much cake.

We are making a Chocolate Mint cake with a marshmallow middle layer. The recipe calls for sprinkling crushed peppermint candies on top for a garnish.

Unfortunately, I did my cake ingredient shopping at PCC which is too pure (or posh?) to carry peppermint candies. So, I’m grating a chocolate mint bar and hoping for the best.

The flavor and texture was excellent. However, now that it’s cut, the top layer is sliding down off the bottom layer.
