Well, today’s the big day we try switching Calvin from afternoon to morning daycare. I just hope he takes a decent nap.

Today for Calvin’s breakfast: Peanut Butter/Banana/Orange Juice (just enough to make it pureeable) and Cherry/Peach/Oatmeal.

Calvin is now at daycare for the first day in our schedule shift experiment.

Off to pick up Calvin. Any guesses as to how many minutes he slept?

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2010 2:31 PM
Calvin did very well at daycare this morning! He even took about an hour nap.

From daycare: “Calvin enjoyed pushing the push toys around the room”

Just got home from taking Calvin to the park in our hiking carrier.

Back from SF book club. Managed to transfer Calvin from car to crib without waking him up!

From daycare: “Calvin spent a long time painting with syrup and discovered what happens when you combine blue and yellow.”

Calvin managed to get yet another scratch by his eye at the park today *sigh*

@calvinsdad Yea!

Finally posted a couple pictures from Pineview Park:

Just weighted myself for the first time after birth. I’ve lost around 20 lbs and am now 16 lbs above prepregnancy weight.

Julian and I might actually be getting a handle on this breastfeeding thing. Hopefully tonight wasn’t a fluke.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2016 4:35 PM
Ugh, where did the weeds come from? I guess I know what I’m doing tonight.

I’m getting reminded of why our library stopped our Axis 360 subscription. It’s so hard to use, even for a techie.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2016 6:12 PM
All I want are picture books. How hard could that be to find?

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2016 6:13 PM
Ah, there they are! Now that Julian’s bath is almost over.

Calvin is planning for zombies so we just had an impromptu discussion about the best offensive kitchen equipment. (Pictured: my small cast iron skillet. I think I’d go for the 10” skillet myself but it is quite heavy.)
Calvin stands in the kitchen holding a small skillet with both hands, somewhat like a bat for baseball.

Other questions I’m being asked: “How fireproof is our house?” (Apparently to determine whether Molotov cocktails are likely to backfire.)

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2020 7:30 AM
“How well do we know our neighbors?” (Both in terms of identifying if they’ve become zombies as well a potential combining of resources.)

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2020 7:30 AM
Calvin: Do we have an Amazon Alexa speaker?”
Me: Ummm. . . no, how is that going to help?
Calvin: To record a human scream and throw it making the zombies think there’s a different human they should go after.

I can’t tell if Calvin is just really board or is channeling his anxiety in odd ways. Maybe it’s both. I asked him what he wanted from the grocery store and he said shelf stable food. I told him that food was not going to be a problem for us.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2020 7:30 AM
Calvin: What use do you think we could put the Roomba?

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2020 7:34 AM
I’m grocery planning and I have a bad season that soup season is basically over.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2020 7:57 AM
I swear I don’t need to cough until I enter the grocery store.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2020 8:56 AM
I get home and discover Calvin and Julian have been testing out zombie barricades.
The entrance to the kitchen is barricaded with bar chairs and the lids from plastic bins.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2020 8:59 AM
Ah, I have clarification, Calvin was pretending that Julian was a zombie. (I told Julian that Zombies aren’t real and he said “I know” and went on to explain in more detail what they were doing.)

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2020 2:17 PM
Wow, being able to remotely turn off the kids’ devices is magical.

Kiesa @spreadsheetmom Apr 5, 2020 2:23 PM
Calvin just told me he wants to buy his room so I can no longer make him clean it. I told him to measure it (real life math!) and we’re going to multiply by the price per square foot we paid. Possibly not entirely fair but probably instructive.

I think that this quarter I will delay balancing my retirement account statements . . .
