Calvin has been throwing a fit today everytime he sees a banana or cracker and I don’t give it to him. However, he’s not getting more.

Julian is enjoying his lentils, which is good. Except instead of hard wood floors we have lentil wood floors.

Today I read that modern detergents work better with food left on dishes. I’m trying this out. I expect to regret it.
[Context: Both Jaeger and I were raised in households that religiously prewashed the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Also, the dishes turned out fine.]

Parenting tip of the day: never get rid of your baby monitor, even when you think your kid has outgrown it. It has so many uses. (Also, basic audio works just fine. No need to get fancy video that comes with substandard security.)

At family reunion we had a different room for the kids and put it in there. Right now, I’m working but Julian is sick so I put it in the room he’s in so I can hear if he calls (not going to be an issue in a NYC apartment . . . ).

Ok, this is one of the higher fevers that Julian has had. Of course, I had the worse time convincing him to take another dose of ibuprofen.
