I’m done with power pumping for the day. After 10 min on 10 min off for 8 hrs I’m relieved to be back to only 1 pumping every 2 hrs.

I have many, many persimmons in our freezer. It just occurred to me that I might be able to use King Arthur Flour’s Banana-Oat Pancakes and substitute persimmon pulp for the bananas.

I’m always bemused when men go out of their way to offer to carry “heavy” things for me that weigh less than my children do. No one ever offers to carry my children for me.

[There was some follow-up Twitter conversation about whether I’d be willing to hand my kids over to as stranger to carry and, to be fair, I would not. It’s really more an underlying annoyance with our society teaching men that women need help carrying heavy things but need only minimal caregiving support. (I do think this is changing. Slowly.)]

For some reason I thought, apparently incorrectly, that I had another bag of all-purpose flour stashed away other than the bleached one I bought for just in case. Fortunately, I’m making bread so I think bread flour should work ok.

Well, this could get interesting. QFC has limited milk to 1 gallon per customer. Normally, I get 2 a week. I picked up some UHT milk I’m going to try for baking (no limit on it) and we’ll see if I have to do an extra grocery store run this week.

We’re doing a small Easter egg hunt. Turns out we had decoy eggs. The one shown below is one of the shaking musical eggs. This wasn’t on purpose but I shall remember for next time.

We have found them all! Related, I bought 2 giant eggs for each kid filled with non-candy stuff. Julian’s had play dough in it. He is now enjoying running around with 1/2 the egg as a hat.

[Context: Julian had a milk allergy and 2 months old and had to drink super special (and expensive) formula. However, apparently this is a thing kids grow out of so this was our first test with real milk.]

I have also told Calvin that he doesn’t have to work in the office. However, if he doesn’t want to be in the office, he needs to proactively come down at the start of each period to tell me he’s working. We’ll see how this goes . . .
